I am so incredibly sick of people implying that cis straight people are oppressed and discriminated against systematically in the same way LGBT people are. I’m sick of people outright saying that lesbians and gay men aren’t /that/ oppressed. These are all sourced statistics I have found in the past hour, one of these actually delve that deep into the specific oppression of certain groups (lesbophobia, transmisogyny, biphobia etc) as that would be a long text post. I hope that this gives the discourse some context and really highlights why LGBT need safe spaces and specialized supports.
