people already assuming steven will reform the diamonds with minimal effort and that the show is sympathetic to them as dictators even though the promos for the next episodes show that’s clearly not the case just gets a heavy sigh like really? we’re still doing this? 

he wants to ‘show them the error of their ways’ TO STOP THEIR ‘REIGN OF TERROR’. HE CALLED THEM DICTATORS. HE IS TRYING TO NEGOTIATE THE UNCORRUPTION OF THE EARTH GEMS FROM A POSITION OF POWER, BUT THEY DON’T RESPECT HIM ENOUGH FOR IT TO WORK YET SO SOMETHING DIFFERENT WILL HAVE TO HAPPEN.
