That scene where Steven was separated from his gem… I’m… listen, I am utterly floored. To see this RAW powerful side of Steven and to have the human side of him weak, but fighting to sync back up was… wow. To have those two crying happily as they fuse together because Steven IS STEVEN and he is so HAPPY that he is NOT anyone else? I’m just… wow! Having the animation become so smooth and beautiful… Can you see how amazing that whole scene is? How utterly important the message behind it is? How you are YOU no matter who came before you to create you? That you have all of this raw power to fight for yourself against the influences that tell you you’re not you? That is probably one of my favorite scenes in the entire show. Wow, just… wow.
