honestly the part where pink Steven just screams that pink/rose is gone is himself literally being absolutely done with everyone telling him about how he is rose and “rose this” or “pink that” after all these years, feeling that Steven needed to BE her to feel complete and not an utter mistake to please everyone. that moment was a big character development on him. He’s not his mom, he’s Steven.
