Stevens gem

If u ever come from an abusive home, if u ever been in that situation u know sometimes we fear that deep down we have to much of our parents in us

We fear that no matter how hard we try to show our own identity we always fear deep down we are just our parents and nothing else

So Steven’s fear of having his identity be a facade, his life, his emotions not having a meaning to his life, that terrified him

He has been understanding his mother, after years of not knowing anything about her, now he knows about her tragic past and empathizes with her extremely, to a point where he feels is his obligation to project her on his identity (hence the pink diamond costume)

And white used that against him, his biggest fear is not being a person, having too much of her mother in him for him to be a complete person

So when u see his gem, the undeniable symbol of identity, transform between pink, to rose, and finally ….. Steven

He shares some story with his mother, he understands how it feels to be alone and feel miniscule, but Steven is not his mother, he haves a family that loves him and supports him on everything he tries

He is his own person, he has grown, he has always been Steven, and seeing his gem reflect that reality, that is the most beautiful scene I have seen in any show

Steven is free, he doesn’t need to be anyone else, he is Steven and others will have to change their minds about him
