Steven Universe is not over.

  • Homeworld isn’t going to just going to reform into a totally peaceful society. There’s too many “upper crust” gems that benefit from the system.
  • There is no way they found every single corrupted gem. They didn’t stop bubbling gems because they finished. They stopped because other shit was going on.
  • The gems that were healed aren’t completely healed. Jasper and Biggs still have horns and weird spots. (Actually jaspers spins remind me of malachite? I wonder if that means anything.)
  • The heaven and earth gems? What…are they?
  • The healed gems still need to settle into their life on earth. Especially the nephrites and any other gems that originally part of the rebellion. They need to find their place, just like Lapis and Peridot did.
  • What the fuck. Is in that chest in Lion’s mane????

we’ve met the Diamonds and dealt with them

but I think there’s another HIGHER power above them we could meet, after all, wouldn’t it make sense if a non-organic hyper-advanced civilization was actually created by someone else?

Gems are sentient beings of light based off of precious stone, they are hyper-capable and more interesting hyper-adaptable, being created in a lab instead of evolving naturally would really be the most logical origin

and wouldn’t the creators be mad if their creation was suddenly going off model? Maybe that’s why the diamond’s are so attached to their rules and traditions.

I think we might meet the gems creators next.

That split-screen image of human!Steven watching his gem reform and then see himself was so affecting

we’ve gone years seeing Steven’s journey through his eyes, through the eyes of a half-human, half-gem. So when it came to the point that they were forcefully separated, the only way for us to watch was through that split perspective

what an incredible way of visualising a fusion that has never seen itself apart

Can I just say how deeply I appreciate Steven universe for never pulling punches on female facial expressions and the conveying of emotions because most shows (live action or cartoon) want their female characters to look pretty constantly and in a show full of feminine individuals this is a GREAT standard to have
