Rebecca has such a good grasp of giving people things they never thought they needed like We could be like ‘Oooohhh, I would love it to be this!’ and she’s all like ‘Nonono, what you REALLY want is THIS’ and we’re like ‘Oh shit!!! You’re so right!!’

Case in point, when we first thought of the Temple Fusion, we were thinking they would be colorful and bright and like angel aura quartz or something and Rebecca was like ‘No, They’re OBSIDIAN and have MOLTEN LAVA running thru them and they FORGE and SICK ASS LONG SWORD with the LAVA from one of their MOUTHS

nacrepearl:

Our Pearl is the perfect, model standard pearl. She belongs to White Diamond. Pink Diamond has a pearl. This pearl is her total opposite–she’s loud, jumpy, treats her diamond like a friend instead of an owner.

Pink Pearl and Pink Diamond play all sorts of games when alone. Pink shows off her juggling, dresses up with the help of her pearl, and is flirty with her. Yellow and Blue constantly check on her to make sure she’s not goofing off and acting improper.

One day, they play a game of pretend, and Pink Diamond is tired of deciding every detail of what happens in the game. She wants her pearl to play along with her own ideas too. “What do you want to do?” “I don’t know, I just wanted to do this for you. I don’t want you to just do whatever I want.”

Pink Pearl suddenly stops, and starts to break. A confusing order to not do what her Diamond says makes her mind confused and she short-circuits.

This alerts Pink Diamond, and she runs to the other diamonds to try to get an answer for what to do, she accidentally did something to her pearl. The others then learn of the nature of their relationship, and White comes in with a proposal. She will trade pearls with Pink, give her a more sensible pearl that won’t go along with Pink’s antics–a model, perfect pearl. They swap pearls.

White erases her pearl’s memory, wanting to give Pink a clean slate with a perfect personality, and with the help of the other diamonds to give her some color, she is custom delivered to Pink as a replacement. White takes Pink Pearl, and washes her out with her light, breaking her eye due to how blinding the light is. (Alternatively: she is thrown into a pitch black chamber, washing her pink color out and ‘bleaching’ her in the process, breaking her eye.)

Pink’s actions haunt her for the rest of the time she has on Homeworld before she gets a colony after righting her immature ways, finally “proving” herself in the eyes of the others as a diamond to give her her own colony. Pink is easily bored and unhappy with the new pearl. She words her orders carefully, not wanting to again break her pearl.

Eventually, they go down to earth, and Pink is amused to find that her new pearl is the instigator for imagination and having fun.

And you pretty much know the rest.
