Why is this show so intent on making me cry?

I really have to give it to the Crew for pulling off this Super Watermelon Island callback so perfectly. It made this episode weigh something.

Escapism really shows how far Steven has come. It’s important to remember that he stated in the beginning of the episode that he is still fourteen. Not even a year has passed since season 2.

In less than a year of Steven’s life, he went from Rose Quartz’s son facing his greatest challenge of the Cluster and Malachite on Earth, to Pink Diamond’s son, facing White Diamond and the fate of the entire universe.

Time to cry now.
