Sapphires primary power is her ice, which, when combined with Ruby’s heat, makes Garnets electricity
According to Rebecca, the hardest part of designing characters is making sure that they contrast with and complement each other and making sure that every element of their design tells you something about who they are.
A cannon Lepidolite gem would be purple, so they would have been created by Blue and Pink, which would make them be thoughtful/intellectual and passionate
Much of the information on gem writing is kept by Steven Sugar, but Rebecca did give us a bit of information- A line is placed above, below, or next to a diamond shape to indicate which Diamond is being referred (showing where they fall in the Diamond symbol) if you know this, you can tell who’s Gems were being mined in the kindergartens on Homeworld – it’s written on the wall.
The shows storyboards are done in Storyboard Pro, the inks are done by hand, and the colors are done digitally
Miki’s favorite character is Amethyst
The show has been planned since the very beginning, and, while it has stayed true to the plan, much of the shows details have been tweaked and work-shopped
Bill Dewey’s father is named Buck Dewey, who also ran for mayor
“The Hand,” a 1966 stop motion film by Czech animator Jiri Trnka was a big influence for the show

the meme of people taking the drawings of Yellow Diamond running and Blue Diamond standing from Reunited and photoshopping them into doing things like rowing canoes is Rebecca’s favorite SU meme
Stevens Youtube has about 100 subs; Mostly his friends, people from around town, music appreciators, and a few CBF fans
Jewelry with gems is never shown in the SU universe (The crew says its too weird to think about)
Ruby and Sapphire wedding rings are made from tin and copper
Change Your Mind has been the hardest episode to make thus far

The idea for Change Your Mind was made in 2011, and has been in production since 2016
It was asked if the crew would rather fight 1 Jasper-size Peridot or 100 Peridot-sized Jaspers. Everyone chose the Jasper-size Peridot
When asked why Peridot didn’t know what singing was,it was said Peridots aren’t invited to parties, and Peridot didn’t get out much, even before coming to earth
Pearl is not good with babies
BDs design was the hardest to nail down, the wanted something about her to look impossible(her hair, which was based off the ghost from The Fiddler on the Roof)
The movie has been in the works since 2015
An idea Rebecca had for Episode 10 is going into Change Your Mind, and it’s apparently pretty extreme
Others can enter Lions mane, but only with Stevens help. Lars can enter through Lions mane and come out his own tree, but it would result in a paradox
Blue Diamond is a good singer
The Diamonds sweat is used to make other gems
Lapis Lazuils are considered very valuable gems
Jailbreak, Reunited, and A Single Pale Rose have had some of the best audience reactions, according to the crew
Animation is the longest part of the production process
so i know that fyre festival is now mostly seen as funny meme of rich kids being scammed but please don’t forget that billy mcfarland hired 200+ Bahamian locals to work grueling hours day and night on the island for weeks with completely unrealistic expectations for this festival and in the end abandoned the island and ran home without payingany of them
so in all seriousness, billy mcfarland is a monster needs to like…….go to jail
