I’ve been so sick of this since the incident where someone stole and re-uploaded my Undertale-related Echofell work on Pinterest. (It was an incident where every. single. one. of my drawings were re-uploaded, starting from doodles to even drawings I drew as a present to someone else, almost until it became something like a personal backup blog.)

And I keep getting reports of people stealing my work to use as their profile pictures or to upload on blogs, Twitter headers, Kakaotalk, Naver bands, and other social networking services.

I mean, I don’t want to feel uncomfortable even when drawing Undertale fanart. I want it to be enjoyable.

I really hate this.

And now, I find out my art has been stolen on Youtube too???

It’s been uploaded as “Echotale/Echofell”, but it wasn’t even funny to see G’s from other Korean AUs too.

Please. Whether I put 20 minutes of work, or 2 days, or even a week on my drawings, do not use them without my permission.

I often see this affecting my friends as well, and it makes me very angry.

I want to kindly ask all people to spread the word about asian
fanartists. They work real real hard, produce tons of quality art done
many times inbetween tight schedules, work, hard studies for fun and
enjoyment. Their work has been stolen, reused, edited, recently even sold off
on websites as pillows, Tshirts, prints…OVER AND OVER AND OVER again.
I know this happens all the time, but Undertale has been something
quite special to millions of people, teaching them about kindness. It
connected and it’s really unfair toward people who have an english
language barrier (which so often happens in this case for asian artists)
and can’t even properly voice their discomfort with others using their
art, be it as banners or in videos…doesn’t really matter. Many artists
permit under the condition that they are sourced, it kind of became
common nowadays among US or european artists.. But IT DOESN’T  APPLY TO
ALL OF THE USA/EUROPE ARTISTS..  IF SOME OF THEM GAVE PERMISSION, IT
DOESN’T AUTOMATICALLY MEAN PERMISSION FROM ALL. SAME FROM ALL THE OTHER
ARTISTS, Asian or not. I know that many many people arent’real aware of
this, because they see things being “sourced” and think it’s okay if they do that with everything. It’s been like a silent agreement in many cases, but once someone voices out loud that it’s making them uncomfortable, then it should be respected without questioning. Please,
whenever possible, ASK and you might get a positive response if your
motif isn’t anything shady. Use clear easy sentences to ask! PLEASE,
don’t use the language barrier as means to scam/mislead someone! Please,
don’t use the language barrier as EXCUSE to not ask. You might try
asking in english and if the asian artists have friends who can
translate your ask, THEY WILL.
And you get response! Please, READ
THE INFO IN THE HEADERS and DESCRIPTION – I seen so many times that
people straightout ignored those. Don’t let beautiful artwork get locked
because of unpolite behavior.
