Listen VERY CAREFULLY to this post!!! I am going to tell you about heat exhaustion and heat stroke!!
Heat Exhaustion:
This is the precursor to heat stroke! DO NOT TAKE IT LIGHTLY!!! You can go from heat exhaustion to heat stroke in under ten minutes. There are two major contributing factors: WATER AND SALT.
Symptoms of Heat Exhaustion:
Confusion
Dark coloured urine (means not enough water)
Dizziness
fainting
Fatigue
Headache
Pale skin
Profuse sweating
Rapid heartbeat
Muscle crampsHOW TO TREAT:
Get the FUCK OUT OF SUNLIGHT and get your ass into air conditioning!!!SIP cool water- do NOT drain a water bottle it will not feel good! Rest, sponge off with cool water, and expose as much skin as possible.
This seems weird, but eat a salty snack. My go to is salt and vinegar crisps. Heat exhaustion is caused by the depletion of water and salt while you sweat- restoring salt is V Important!!
HEAT STROKE
If heat exhaustion progresses to heat stroke, holy shit. Heat Stroke is VERY SERIOUS. You NEED to call emergency services. (If you can’t afford an ambulance, please drive in a heavily AC car as fast as possible, I understand).
Heat Stroke can cause brain damage, or damage your internal organs, and can lead to death. DEATH.HOW TO PREVENT:
Stay out of direct sunlight and indoors. Do not argue with me on this. Use Poke incense and stay inside your house.Wear light weight, light coloured clothing and a hat! (Goth friends, look into Ghost Goth- still goth, just white)
Use SPF 30 or higher!Drink extra fluids! Water is the best, but fruit juice is ok! Electrolyte carrying sports drinks are good too! COFFEE AND TEA DEHYDRATE YOU. I’m sorry Fam but don’t do it
Don’t exercise outdoors. Don’t do it.
SYMPTOMS OF HEAT STROKE:
Throbbing headache
Dizziness and light headedness
LACK OF SWEATING. VERY IMPORTANT. means the person has run out of water and salt- SERIOUS DANGER.
Muscle weakness and cramps
Red, hot and dry skin
Rapid heartbeat
Behavioural changes, such as confusion, disorientation or staggering
UnconsciousnessDO NOT FUCK AROUND WITH HEAT STROKE.
As someone who has had serious heat exhaustion 3+ times I can TELL YOU that shit ain’t fun. Once you get it, it will fuck your internal thermostat up forever. I cannot be in direct sunlight if it’s over 80°F, ok? It’s BAD. On the bright side, I’m a PRO at recognising and treating it.
This is a SERIOUS ILLNESS, and no Pokemon is worth your life.BRING WATER. WEAR YOUR HAT (bonus points if you wear it backwards!). SET UP SHOP IN A CAFE AND USE INCENSE INDOORS. MAKE USE OF LURES ON POKESTOPS.
And if you feel yourself getting too hot: STOP.
I don’t want any of y’all to die!!!!Stay SAFE and have FUN.
